Corporate sustainable innovation (see also Sustainable Innovation) seeks to simultaneously solve environmental and social problems and generate profits for the company (Delmas and Pekovic 2018). Its nature can be technological, organizational, social, or institutional (Rennings 2000).

In a narrow sense, corporate sustainable innovation can be defined as “new ideas, behavior, products and processes, (…) which contribute to a reduction of environmental burdens or to ecologically specified sustainability targets” (Rennings 20002020欧洲杯谁能夺冠, p. 322). In this sense sustainable innovation is often used interchangeably with notions “ecological” or simply “eco-innovation,” “environmental innovation,” and “green innovation.”
